- An image from the GOES 16 GLM which shows the bolide over Mexico.
- Brief animation from NOAA weather radar from the KEPZ radar El Paso, NM.
It shows the rapidly spreading circular feature Dr. Fries describes.

from the radar and the weak radar signatures of falling meteorites may not
appear.
In summary, GLM, eyewitness, and weather radar data indicate that a meteorite
fall may have occurred in Mexico near the coordinates listed above. This site
is populated and features a few farming communities, with the "El Chocolate"
dry lake bed to its south. Conditions should be good for recovery of
meteorites. Analysis of radar data will continue.

[meteorite-list] New fall in Kenya
We have a large new fall in Kerinyaga state, Kerugoya Kenya. 24 April 2020 20:00 hours. Chondrite. White, at least 15-20 kg known. Sadly heavy rains began the next afternoon and stones not recovered immediately are already exhibiting heavy oxidation. Save up your pennies folks. For a little background on how I got ahold of this fall so fast. I saw the Kenya fall on Friday night Tucson time, barely 7 hours after it happened in Kenya. I’ve been to Kenya 7 times, 3 for Thika fall in 2011 (60km from this fall. Four trips for Sericho Pallasite. I’ll call this fall Komboini for the moment. I called my contacts in Kenya immediately, one of whom arrived there Saturday evening less than 24 hours after the fall. He was rapidly buying material for me. I have the hammer stone (fell on a house in Komboini) and we removed the roof panel with the hole and even the tile floor that was shattered by the stone. The meteorite shattered on impact. Most of the stones you’ve all seen in the photos and video I have. Some you haven’t seen I have. Heavy rains started hours after the fall and any stones recovered after the rains began are heavily oxidized already. I assume the fall is an H5. Seems too high metal for an L but that’s also possible. Pieces will be available for sale next week. There will be enough to go around. As you can see I have some kilos. Many stones sadly were picked up and hammered to see what was inside them. Sad but will provide for lots of fresh fragments for collectors. Relax. I plan to make a coronavirus stay-at-home special offer to get pieces to everyone at very low cost. Money is hard to come by these days. There is a massive panic in Kenya with the Sericho crowd all selling and offering photos. Most of them can’t move because Kenya is locked down. Be warned that many are claiming to be there who aren’t there. Roads are blocked by military due to coronavirus lockdown and movement is difficult or impossible for most. My guy is high up in the government. He can move. I’m being offered stones by Moroccans that I already purchased. Offering three very rare nice pieces today. I’m starting to sort boxes and plan to begin offering nice pieces to pay down bills in this tough time. First Park Forest. Famous Winslow street specimen. This meteorite has a crazy history. It hit the road (this exact specimen shows asphalt embedded in the rough side) the ricocheted into the side of a home in Winslow Street. It made a large hole in the side of the house near the front door. A fragment also damaged the car in the drive. A bidding war ensued for most of the pieces (which I won at terrible cost). The woman had turned in the rock to the police the night of the fall after reporting the damage to her home. She reclaimed them from the police the next day but after I bought them all the police chief called me weeks later threatening legal action or even arrest if I didn’t return then. (They claimed that it belonged to the city die to impacting the road before hitting the home). In the end I sent part back to the town for their museum. Last is Springwater PallasiteSaskatchewan Canada. 32.2 gram endcut. A rare small piece. Most of what was found were larger individuals. This was from a sub-100 gram individual. The main problem is that the dealers are all tied up. I live in Tucson and the show is a time where I don’t have a spare second for about 5 weeks. I make a large chunk of my yearly income from the Tucson show. It’s a work time for me. Most collectors and buyers come to Tucson with a couple of days. In that time it’s impossible to see the show. The Tucson show itself is massive. Covers venues all over the city tens of miles apart. There just no time to attend such an event during the show. Not much chance of many large ones being recovered, and the largest masses made it to the ocean. Hard to estimate what’s been recovered. I’d put it at 30-50 kilograms or more. I have a limited number of complete crusted stones from 10 grams up yo about 50 grams. I was able to decide what to purchase so I only took the best pieces. Money is severely limited in Cuba due to no access to American banking. Impossible to use any credit card or bank card. Cash is heavily taxed. Changing is dollars incurs an instant 13% penalty tax! The Meteorite is real. That’s not a problem. The problem it that there are 1000 people brokering it, none of whom own it or have ever even seen it. It sits in Algeria pretty much untouchable. I am a serious buyer but the games being played with it make it a scam. When I see it delivered to my house in Tucson I’ll know it’s really for sale. There is plenty people don’t know I have. I possess a massive collection. What’s visible on my website is 1/100th of what I have. Monahans was important to me and I got it in exchange from ASU. I’m not at home I’m in Europe and China so I can’t remember exact weight but it’s a large piece from the NASA studied specimen with the halite crystals. Very rare and very unobtainable for any price. [meteorite-list] Announcing new Pallasite from Kenya
I am happy to announce today a new Pallasite from Kenya. I have been working tirelessly on this project for the last five months. After several trips to Kenya and 10 cargo shipments we are nearing the end. A strewn-field was discovered in Wajir Kenya last year in the desert near the border with Somalia. Needless to say, this area is a hot-zone, basically a war zone. Moritz Karl and I had to have heavy security escort and armed guards stationed at our hotel doors to prevent attack or kidnapping by Al Shabab terrorists in February when we traveled to the location. So far over 30 pieces with a total known weight of approximately 2 metric tons has been found, of which myself, Jim Strope and Moritz Karl have purchased it all. Sadly events beyond my control are forcing me to make it public today. Two pieces were stolen from a shipment to Nairobi and are now being offered in public. One is 65 kilos and the other I am not sure of the weight. Kenya national Police are involved in tracking down the people involved in the theft. This is a warning to anyone who buys the stolen pieces. I have legal export permits for the exported specimens. The minister has been notified of the theft and will block export of the stolen pieces until legal case is resolved to dropped. Some smaller fragmented samples which were sledge-hammered have possibly left Kenya however. Anything not issued an export permit is illegal to remove from the Republic of Kenya. The pallasite is extremely fresh and nearly all pieces are covered in blue-black fusion crust. Pieces are being processed at this time for slices and my hope was to announce it in Ensisheim in June. Due to the ongoing theft I must announce it today to claim the credit for my work. It has been submitted for classification and the work is ongoing with Laurence Garvie and Devin Schrader at Arizona State University, center for meteorite studies.
