What if the end is not an instantaneous event? Maybe the process
takes days or weeks and it starts on 12-21-12. The actual final act
might be days or weeks away. It's a well-known fact that the alien
tractor beam takes at least 11 days to move the Earth out of it's
orbit. They activated it
I don't think they cared much about time zones but their calendar was more
accurate than the one in use today. They had no need for leap years so you
don't need to worry about them being a day or two off.
They were a brilliant but brutal civilization.
