I have been having difficulties with the MikTeX Settings GUI. I have tried
to use "UPdate formats" several times, but it freezes up. Can I clear some
buffer or something? The Admin dialog no longer comes up, and the local
dialog does not complete.

It would greatly improve MikTeX to include biber support in the package. If
it is there, I am unsure as to how to access it. As many know, biblatex and
biber work together, and it is always important to synchronize. For that
reason, the package would be the best place to do this.

Why don't you set up 2 format files, and put 1 hyphenation table in the
first, Hyphenation table 2 in the second. Then you pick the format file
that is most appropriate.
