Ahh. I did not know this.

Looking back thru the archive, I see the announcements came during a
time (Feb 25 & Mar 25) when I was not following the list. I didn't tune
back in until July.

Of course this does raise another obvious question (see next email)...

That's probably a good thing. Glad you are on top of all this.

You're right it was kind of abrupt, but RC has been out forever
without much feedback.

The regenerated auto* changes were not included, but I did include
some recent code fixes.

Wow. That was... abrupt. I didn't even know it was being considered.

Was the cutoff before or after that big checkin I just did to upgrade
the make files? From one point of view, I'm hoping it was included. On
the other hand, I would never have pushed this had I known we were just
days away from a release.

It's just been released, but I have not yet announce it, I guess that
can go into 5.0.1.

It would be nice to have a release, indeed.

Btw, there is still the MACRO bug about IN6_IS_ADDR_MULTICAST, in
violation of the POSIX spec, and I'd love to get that fixed before we do
the 5.0 release.

With my kindest regards,

[Mingw-w64-public] Release criteria for mingw-w64 v5?

2016-10-18 Thread David Wohlferd
Is there an official list of release criteria for mingw-w64 v5? Or a
targeted release date? I'm not seeing anything on the web site.

I have my own list of things I'm working on (~6 items) that I'd like to
see included, assuming there is still time. I also have a few more that
I'd like to do, but that belong at the beginning of a release cycle.
When does v6 begin?
