The fan speen never goes above:
hw.sensors.acpithinkpad0.fan0=4527 RPM
+- few RPMs
if i set apmd -C or -A the laptop powers off after a while
without any warnings.
with apm -L or -H its running, but getting hotter.

Ok, tried the Ralink card in a Toshiba Satellite M50, and still getting the
same problem. I'll give the DCMA-81 a go, see where it goes. If it falls
flat... maybe the Realtek NIC is a battle best not fought.
