These machines at least don't have IPMI and i don't know, if you can buy any equipped with IPMI.

Standard config on many Supermicros is to have it enabled, sharing the first main network port if you don't have anything plugged into the dedicated one, with the same password on every machine. You do not want this.

We have a pair of Product Name: X10SLM+-LN4F in production for a branch office with couple of ipsec tunnels. They have four copper nics onboard and PCIe expansion slots, if you are in need of fiber or additional ports. Afair, they don't have a raid controller onboard, but we use softraid with RAID1 on them. I don't know if they have an IPMI, but you get they idea :). hth, Marc

Hi, I am planning to try DL320e G8 v2, in the same price range of the DL20 G9. If you have a few weeks I should be able to tell you if it works. For the APU, I would go with a manageable switch and VLAN. -- Cordialement, Pierre BARDOU -Message d'origine- De : Marko Cupać [mailto:marko.cu...@mimar.rs] Envoyé : mercredi 19 octobre 2016 21:03 À : misc@openbsd.org Objet : Re: 4th nic for pcengines apu2 Hi, I have a budget which is a few times the price of single apu2. Actually, initially I planned to use a pair of HPE ProLiant DL20 gen9 for this purpose. One of requirements for this hardware is that it has to be purchased from a local distributor in Serbia, in order to avoid hassle with customs, import taxes, first import certification, guarantee period etc. PC Engines have distributor here, that's one of the reasons I buy their gear. The same with HP. I doubt Lanner and Jetway have distributor in Serbia, at least web search didn't return anything. My intention was what Florian suggested, to use miniPCIe NIC, and I wanted to ask if someone knows about one that is tested in production on OpenBSD, and works fine. Why not use a NIC which fits in one of its two miniPCIe slots? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Gigabit+minipcie There's even a dual port one with Intel chips, the MPX-574D2. Someone on the pcengines forum said /he was told/ it would work with an APU2C4 but didn't post a confirmation: http://www.pcengines.info/forums/?page=post&id=BA59278A-23D5-4FD3-87F5-CC6F146B96A5 Regards, Florian

4th nic for pcengines apu2
Hi, I would like to experiment with pcengines' apu2 as a hardware platform for CARPed firewalls for branch offices. All the branch offices have two uplinks (no more than 50Mbit/s of gre/ipsec) over separate providers, and local lan, which makes me short for one NIC over which I would do pfsync. Does anyone know about supported pci-e or usb NIC I could use for pfsync? Any other words of wisdom regarding my idea? Thank you in advance, -- Before enlightenment - chop wood, draw water.
