I don't understand which tags are used to find the country (and other
address data) for a street, or city to use in address search.
In my build of Southern Africa, the streets around Nelspruit gets
assigned country Botswana, although it is in South Africa, and close to

On some units address search seems to work if --index is used.
I think I can recall someone reporting successful address search,
And I've seen my own maps address search working on an e-trex,
But that was long ago when I knew someone with an e-trex willing to try
my map;)

I now got --road-name-pois to work again,
by removing --generate-sea:extend-sea-sectors from my options
Does it make sense that --generate-sea:extend-sea-sectors could
influence --road-name-pois?
What else can I do to try and narrow down to the origin of the problem.

I think you're right.
On nuvi everything is uppercase.
So it looks like XT only displays the first letter of every word.
e.g. Villa Barcelona Cafe is displayed as V B C
On Garmin Mobile XT only the upper case letters of labels are displayed.
Both on the map and in the search functions.
Has anyone else experienced this anywhere?

I made a mistake
The reason why I could not see in mapsource what I expected is because I
used the wrong input file for the one --index creation.
I make SA in a one tile map, and also in a 4 tile map, to compare &
play.
The 4 tile version worked fine, but the 1 tile map still does not
compil

I used your advice and built a map of SA with sea successfully.
When building SA from one tile, the sea is correct with only some
islands drowned,
(I download Africa from geofabrik and extract southern Africa from it
with splitter because geofabrik SA
cuts the coastline at the country b
Generate-sea does not work for me on Southern Africa.
