If you set a suburb to 23, then this means 23 or higher so with the
default levels given below it will be displayed at level 24.

maps using some external tool because - as I understand it - if you
use splitter then mkgmap trims the routes correctly. I plan to try
splitting using gpsmapedit.

different than the way gpsmapedit does it. If B is tagged as a boundary
node in both tiles then it should work. That is the way it works in
other garmin map compilers, so it should be an underlying feature of the
garmin format.

I am assuming this is to allow us to mark external nodes that connect to
external nodes in other tiles - is this correct? This would be fun to
experiment with, splitting tiles in gpsmapedit, converting them to osm

is from shapefiles originally, so I think
I can manage this.
But why do the national boundaries display correctly when I delete the
contour lines? Something is wrong. The line that is being dropped is a
single line with 22,668 points.

MP files but I doubt if it is difficult to add support for them.
