Use of Touch screen mobile Phone or devices is not very difficult
except typing. We should go on the forward direction instead going on
older stile of keypad in mobiles. Short cut gestures
gt; and Tabs.

Your method works best in cases of numbers but not in cases of alphanumeric
characters like YIEi2377

shorten it, you can take line granularity upto that line where the
code is, then change it into word granularity, then reaching to the
code, to character granularity.
But indeed its a troublesome exercise.
