Thanks and regards.

Hello Mr. Dinesh
Nice of you to undertake a conscious study of mobile applications'
accessibility. Well I have encountered the following problems while
operating on a I phone.
1. While browsing through many applications especially news apps often
a running advertisement pops up which is difficult to close as on
tapping anywhere on the screen it opens safari and I am forced to
reopen the application.
2. Certain news application namely scroll, Times of India, Economic
times are hardly accessible.
3. In apps such as OLA there are many unlabelled buttons which causes
great difficulty in choosing the desired vehicle such as Mini, Micro,
Sedan and the like.
Hope you could look into these.

Thanks Rajesh. Your Uber example is very helpful in explaining the point of why
developers should properly mark control type. I have noted it.

Well, obviously, many buttons are unlabelled.
Besides, many a times, there is no indication whether it is a controll at all.
For instance, in uber, when it announces in xxx minutes, I did not know that on
clicking it uber to go opens, for it does not say button etc.

Hope I am understandable.

Dear All,

As some of you might know, I am leading NVDA development from India. But this
email is regarding the challenges that we face while using mobile apps and
websites.

As part of a study to make mobile applications and websites more accessible, I
am interested in understanding the problems faced by persons with blindness. I
am a person with blindness and I do have some idea about what problems we face,
but want a broader perspective.

My main focus is in cataloging the problems faced so that guidelines could be
derived from those problems. Often software developers are told what they
should do without explaining why they should do so. Feel free to bring out any
problem that you face; don't worry about whether you are a beginner or an
expert.

Please also point out any existing guidelines that could help in making mobile
applications more accessible.

Regards
Dinesh Kaushal

I have done a survey on mobile accessibility. I have found plenty of errors
and inaccessibility in Apk's.
