Hello all!
I'm new to mod_ssl, so I'm sorry if I ask too dumb questions...
I would need to use groups of DNs for authorization purposes.
I saw the example in Chapter 5 (HowTo) of the tutorial at
http://www.modssl.org/docs/2.8/ssl_howto.html
which uses the SSLOption +FakeBasicAuth that does a
I got the same problem.
Downloading gdbm from SUSE ftp site did the trick:
socrate:/tmp # wget
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/7.1/suse/a1/gdbm.rpm
socrate:/tmp # wget
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/7.1/suse/d2/gdbm-devel.rpm
socrate:/tmp #
rpm --install gdbm.rpm
socrate:/tmp # rpm
Hi Damon,
Could you please put in the corrected part of your httpd.conf file - all
the directives that are relavant to SSL connections.
I am interested in looking at the corrected piece ( and commented pieces as
well).
Rajaram.
I can't recall where it is documented, but if I recall, the problem with using
name-based hosting (multiple sites sharing an IP address, differentiated by
name) in this case is that for name-based hosting to work, the browser sends a
line in the request that specifies which host it is requesting.
Hrm. When I came across named-based virtual host issues in the mod_ssl FAQ,
I assumed RSE was referring to something like:
VirtualHost www.vhost.com
...
VirtualHost www-two.vhost.com
...
--- instead of ---
VirtualHost 1.2.3.4:443
Btw, if you want to know more about this issue, check out the FAQ in the Documents
section on the modssl.org website. The specific item is
http://www.modssl.org/docs/2.8/ssl_faq.html#ToC47 .

No you don't - in your example, both hosts have the same (dummy) IP
address. This is name-based virtual hosting and doesn't work with SSL.

Luckily, I do have one additional IP.
Thanks to everyone for the information!
