CPAN/PAUSE - releases not indexed due to version number

Hi PERLANCAR, You had a bunch of releases fail to index, in the wee hours of today (UK time). All of them were due to the existing release on CPAN having a higher version number. I wondered if this was down to a tool going awry, so letting you know, in case you hadn’t seen this. Cheers, Neil

Hi Nicholas, You can’t do a "patch release" where you upload a new version of a previous tarball. This is a security restriction. So even if you spot a small thing, you still need to bump the version number and do a regular release. Cheers, Neil
