you make a comment about staying silent.
Well I will say something. At Cinenvent this year the subject of Metropolis and
Ken Schacter came up many times...we who discussed it came up with canclusions

Doesn't he have his own copies, wasn't he Art Director on that poster?

Apparently not, since both he and Hodges asked Charley for one...
From what I remember, Charley met Van Hammersveld and hired him to do the Get

John gave Charley a lot of posters. We probably have one of the largest

Thanks, Adrian. That's good to know. In fact, I privately replied or talked
to several people during the past few days about this - and the consensus is in
line with what you wrote, especially when one considers a long history of
un-related escapades involving Ken dating back many years. On

David, I think this is a mis-characterization

I wonder why Ken didn't just sell some posters and give the investor he owes
the $500,000 too back his money. Now the guy is screwed. He's not going to
have 2 cents to rub together.

Hey gang (Our Gang?),
If you are a fan or collector of any of these classic comedians, please email
or text me. I am trying to collect posters or trade ad images from them that
might be by Al Hirschfeld.
In the pursuit of this I often find non-Hirschfeld items too--like a pressbook

Again, I'm missing something here. After his collection is sold in a
bankrupcy proceeding to pay his debts and whatever damages there are from
this lawsuit, shouldn't he be able to come out of bankrupcy? I thought his
collection was worth millions of dollars? FRANC

The problem is that while there are plenty of very good books, (though this
appears in only one that I know of), despite the writers' best efforts
inevitably there are going to factual errors.
And once these errors are in print they are taken as fact and are near
impossible to correct.

Just saw this discussion.
I've heard the same things. I have a few autographed lobby cards which are
fun to have and not especially valuable otherwise so if you're not buying
them for investment purposes or re-sale then I guess it's moot.
Mine have Ray Milland's autographs and I like the cards.
