Dominique,
That is indeed very sad news. As anyone who had the pleasure to know Stan knew,
he was both a gentleman & generous repository of knowledge of French &
international posters. His legendary Paris shop, his incredibly influential
books were both crucial to the maturity of the movie

Dominic,
Thank you for making the list members aware of this.
His books on French posters were very helpful to many collectors and other
dealers, including myself.
Indeed, he was, as you have said, one of the pioneers of film poster collecting.
Please extend my condolences to his family.

Very saddened to learn about this news. I bought a few French Grandes from him
including David Lean's "Summertime" this past year.
My condolences to his family and also to his kind associates at his shop.
Sincerely,

Carpio, and he was a most gracious host.
And he was indeed a major pioneer of the hobby, and his books on French
posters were wonderful. He added
Very sad news from France,
Stanislas Choko has passed last sunday. He was one of the pioneers of
the movie posters business in France, he went a lot of times in New
York or Los Angeles for the poster shows and was very appreciate.
Our condolences to Laurence, Garance and Mélanie
