Brooklyn, NY: late 50's was 35 cents; 60's saw prices go from 50 to 75
cents, early 70's started with 1.00 to 1.25 to 1.50 and then to 1.75 by the
end of the decade, as I recollect.

In the early 60s, unless I'm imagining it, I remember my mother giving me fifty cents for a Saturday matinee on Long Island - 35 cents for the ticket and 15 cents for candy.
I once asked the candy counter guy for moth balls instead of malt balls.
