posters are static in value, or worse, declining. it's a small hobby,
younger people don't really care, and much of what more modern audiences
want in posters are too cheap to bother with.
on the other hand, vhs & video games are ascendant & the auctions beat

Hi Rich,
I assumed being sealed would be what VHS collectors are after. A number of
tapes I have in storage are still sealed, but I’m sure none of the titles would
be collector-worthy. I was more curious about the titles that are in demand.
Not surprising Star Wars is on the list.
As
Scott the reason some people are buying these is because heritage is
“creating” a market for them.
And people are stupid.

Surely not *all* VHS tapes are gaining in value.
If that’s really true perhaps it’s time for me to rethink my plan to give them
away to some youngster in a VHS Facebook group rather than sitting them out
with the trash. I have boxes of the blasted things, including those that
belonged to

Peter, I rarely disagree with you, but I disagree with you here.
Heritage did not create this market. VHS tapes were getting a lot of
money before HA ever entered the field.
HA is reactive, not creative. They saw a burgeoning market, and they
joined in to the hobby, because after all - they
but they didn't create the VHS market, not by any measure. they just
jumped on the bandwagon.

Aren’t VHS tapes magnetic ? Won’t they degrade over time ? Or is it that
these sealed copies have value no matter?

Hi Folks
I don't think this is a strictly new trend either as I met a guy from Rochester
while attending a Toronto concert around 2016 and he and his companion were
avid collectors of VHS tapes back then and I was surprised at some prices he
quoted at that time. That was the first time I had

But let's discuss the utility. I'd rather see a beautiful or even campy poster
on my wall than enshrine a video tape in a box in another box! I suppose I
could genuflect every time I looked at it.

At some point during the pandemic shut down here in Florida, which was
relatively early and brief, I threw away all my VHS tapes, which I had
built as a library of some of my favorite films. I did not foresee the
advancement in various formats, much less streaming. At least 60 to 75% of
them were

Cool - an actual discussion on MoPo instead of more dealer ads.
So to answer Kirby's original question, Freeman was talking about gaming
cartridges as collectibles and compared them to the beauty of a Buck Jones
or Gloria Swanson poster.
There is no doubt that Buck Jones glory days as a
