it certainly isn't the 1937 poster, but even it it was, $1500
starting bid 3000$ BIN is several times value of an original 1937

I am not as expert as others on MOPO, but to me the image quality alone doesn't
look sharp enough to be an original release.

Richard,

I imagine you are right regarding likelihood of sale given price and popularity
of Gene Autry in 2012. However amongst my friends (many of whom think I'm the
poster expert just because they know my passion) throughout the years more than
one has shown me a Breakfast at Tiffany's or King Kong poster that they
asked me about after they paid way to much money for it. The original poster
was going to be a centerpiece in their kitchen or family room, only to have me
give them bad news after the fact.

Commendable of you Phillip, just observing pretty thankless, and never

Especially with so many sellers on there with a ridiculously positive

I thought that at some point, something would give and people would
realise things just aren't worth what they thought, but seems now
they're going to keep dreaming until they're buried.

And then, their relatives will be bequeathed priceless artifacts, that

It' an old MOVIE POSTER so obviously it's worth a LOT of money.

However, STRETCHED and framed is a new wrinkle on the know nothing sales pitch.

Phil, that's art term

when a painting is done on canvas, it is stretched onto a wooden
frame to prevent it from wrinkling which damages the art. this
usually requires the excess linen or canvas to be wrapped around the
wood on the stretcher before it is mounted into the frame itself

I have bought linenbacked posters that were indeed wrapped to a stretcher
