2/22/2013 Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter SE Minnesota Birding Days Field Trip Report February 20, 21, 22, 2013 While leading a group, birding in Houston county. We were able to observe many of the expected birds of the area, plus a few surprises. Here are a few of those species:

Thanks to the report by Mike Hendrickson of the immature male King Eider near Duluth today, dozens of birders were able to see the bird, but I would like to point out that shortly after Mike found the bird at Nokomis restaurant (which is up the shore near Stoney Point), the bird flew and we

  I am heading up to the Duluth area tomorrow hping to have the chance to photograph a boreal owl. I have been monitoring the boards and have seen posts on a couple ovr the past couple of days but if anyone has any tips that they would not mind sharing on where there are good places to look I
