There is a male Lazuli Bunting at our feeders. It has been observed by Steve
Weston. It appears to be hanging around for now. You are welcome to come and
hopefully see it. It appears to show up at about one-hour increments.

Hi All—
Today (3 May) I recaptured a Song Sparrow near Dundas (Rice Co.) that I
originally banded on 8 April 2010. As Song Sparrows are a relatively
recent arrival at the banding station, this late date indicates the foul
weather has delayed their spring migration this year.

A gallinule was reported by the structure on Big Bluestem Pool, Prairie's Edge
Wildlife Drive today. Same area they've been nesting in for the last several
years. Hooray!
The drive is open daylight hours.

Bernice and Earl Hall got a call from a friend in rural McLeod Cty. to report
an unusual large blackbird making strange clicking and clacking and clucking
noises.
We identified it as a Great-tailed Grackle. The calls and sound effects were
diagnostic,
and it was much bigger than the Common
The bird appears to have hunker down for the night. I think it will be here

Hi all,
Another great day in NW MN. The highlight being 7 WHITE-FACED IBIS at the
Parnell Impoundment in Polk County. Pictures below. The impoundment is
open to the public, but is walk-in access only. The best walk-in access
atm is at the gate located on 240th Ave just north of Polk County
