A quick loop around the Prairie's Edge Wildlife Drive this morning showed a lot

Fire guys just told me they're planning a 200 acre burn on the wildlife drive
tomorrow, Thursday, August 1, so the drive will be closed all day. If all goes
well, it should be open again on Friday.

There were 4 Buff-breasted Sandpipers at the Jirik Sod Farms at 7:00 this
evening. All were on the west side of County 79 (Blaine Ave); two were in some
shaggy sod just north of the plowed area, the two others were a bit south of
these and much farther from the road, beyond the plowed area.
Literally hundreds of migrants were moving down the North
Shore of Lake Superior in Duluth near the Lester River this morning. Thinking I
would make just a quick check of migration this morning, and expecting perhaps
