I will be driving from the Twin Cities to Lutsen. Any suggestions for locating
snowy owls? I have seen various postings, but I am looking for ones that might
be close to Highway 61.
Thanks.

Ken and I saw one of the Snowy Owls again this morning at the Crow Wing
County Fairgrounds, just south and east of the Curling Club, by the shooting
range. It was perched on top of a pole. This is on the east side of 13th
St.

Yesterday morning in Lino Lakes there was a very boisterous cardinal singing
away as if it was spring.
Also Tuesday and yesterday we saw hawks sitting as a pair on street lights
over the highways. Red-tailed Hawks.

It is currently on a cupola on one of the fairground buildings.

The previously reported Townsend's Solitaire was still present in Resurrection
Cemetery around 3:00 this afternoon.

As a fan of the Nature programs on PBS, I think Himalayas (2011) is one
of the best. It will be broadcast again this Sunday night 12/28 in the
metro area from 7:00 - 8:00 on channel 2 -- Life. Not sure about Greater
MN, but look for it.
