The male Mountain Bluebird was seen today in the company of about eight male

Hi,
Around 5 p.m. I found a Baird's Sandpiper (nonbreeding plumage) foraging on the
ice at the Sleepy Eye WTP's. This is a new early south record - the previous
early south record was 3/14/12. Seems like migration is underway earlier with
this mild weather we're having.

Dave just called back again and reported that the two adults are actually
GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS. He and Chris were able to get closer to the
adults and see their light pink legs in addition to nearby Herring Gulls
for a size comparison.

the pier in Lake City, Wabasha County.

First time on here, so bear with me if this doesn't go smoothly.A lot of action
early here with most notable being 2 drake and 1 hen wood ducks already west of
Grasston on Plum St where it cross the Snake River. A Cackling or "Lesser"
Canada Goose also heading north with a bunch of Canadas.
4 male purple martins reported by a friend in rural southern Prior Lake
checking out a house and doing battle with house sparrows on Monday. By
the time I arrived to try to take a picture, they were gone and have not
returned.
