The Great Egret was seen by many from the overlook at Hawk Ridge Bird
Observatory, not
40th Ave West/Erie Pier (as reported in the weekly Duluth round-up), which is
currently not
open the public without written consent from the Port Authority/US Corps
We had at least four Tufted Titmouses (Titmice?) at our feeders briefly
this morning. I am not sure if they are rare or regular visitors as I don't
watch the feeders much. My wife wasn't much help, "I still don't know what
they look like."

Just found a first year male Summer Tanager at Kaplan Woods Parkway in
Owatonna. The bird was in a thicket on the right of the small parking
lot by the paved hike/bike trail by light pole 8. It would not come
out for a picture, but was chattering incessantly. There are some
nearby fruit trees that
I've heard soft cooing all summer in our spruce grove, (not mourning dove) and
today, saw a collared dove fly up when I approached the garden. I assume they
have been breeding here in Owatonna?

Okay so now I know most are not sabine's. 200-300 more gulls just flew in!!!

I'm seeing 110 gulls with black heads. They are resting in the water of the
second pond! Could they all be sabine's?
