Just got a second-hand report that the Smith’s Longspur I found yesterday
morning at the McQuade Rd. public access is still present this morning. It was
not reported to this listserv yesterday because I assumed it would migrate on
and not be present for long, but it was seen by others later in
First found Tuesday by Clinton Nienhaus and others in the grassy gravel flats
at the old Stella Jones pier in west Duluth and still present today. Mixed in
with Lapland Longspurs and Horned Larks and moving around a lot.
Take Central Ave exit off I-35 and go S to Waseca Industrial Rd stop
