Several vireos were singing loudly along Wirth Lake this morning.
No Purple Martins have yet arrived to take up residence in the new house we
erected for them. We've played attraction calls for two weeks several
hours most days. Plenty of swifts but no martins yet.

About a half dozen RWBB calling from the small wetlands east of Theo Wirth
Park.
Also, Common Mergs, Hooded Mergs, Ring-necked Ducks and Wood Ducks in the
long pond alongside Wirth golf course.

I've gotten a couple of inquiries about my sightings at Wirth Park and want
to clarify two things:
1.) I stopped by only to see if there were shorebirds on-site today, which
there were. I did not stick around to positively ID any of the birds (but
they're not all Killdeer!).
2.) If you're look
I scouted out the mudflats at Wirth Park again today, and shorebirds have
begun to arrive. Yellowlegs and White-rumped Sandpipers were present, but
I didn't stick around long enough to count/positively ID all birds. Last
year we saw a few birds trickle in at first and then a peak with great
diver
