During the Wabasha CBC at one of my favorite stops that has in previous
years yielded rarities including Townscends Solitaire and Varied Thrush, we
had a large white raptor with a beige back? (or head) flash by us flying
through the woods at below eye level. I saw the bird for perhaps a second.
An Ivory Gull was photographed late in the day at Park Point by Sam
Holcomb. The word got out about the gull yesterday evening.
The gull is currently being seen right now 1/4 Tuesday at 7:30 am by
Jessica & Clint Niehaus-Dexter at Canal Park. I don't have any details
where in Canal Park but
Since rarities seen in Duluth often do not appear on this listserv, note that
an Ivory Gull was seen today at dawn at Canal Park. Presumably the same bird
was first found sometime yesterday by Sam Holcomb at the Park Point recreation
area. I have no information on the gull’s plumage, but it is
