The Heron Lake complex, where T.S. Roberts and John Tester each spent time,
is now an IBA. A group of land-owners around and close to the complex
formed North Heron Lake Game Producers Association. Heron Lake was known
as the Chesapeake of the West in the 19th Century.

Earlier this week there was a report of many geese at a "Goose Magnet"
south of Madelia. I would drive down on Saturday, March 12, if they're
likely to be still there. They may have moved with the warmer weather. If

Todd Park in NE Edina.

A group of birders led by a volunteer from Friends of Roberts BS spent a
few hours in the sanctuary on last Saturday morning. There were several
"waves" of migrants in the area. Among the birds seen, and or heard were:
Magnolia, Tennessee, Nashville, chestnut-sided warblers

the MOU Conservation Committee. He also arranged at least on trip to TCAAP
