Linda,
If you need to retain more than just the 3 AMQERRxx.LOG files, I can send you
a ksh script I run to automatically save copies of a specified file in a
specified path whenever it changes. I use it to archive my AMQERR02.LOG
files, among others.

Hi bobbee,
I'll take that comment personally, as I am personally blonde. :-)
I'm not sure your quantum leap analogy works here. Let's follow it up,
though, and see where it goes.
Yes, I agree, email developers in an email development system would certainly

Jim,
Thanks for spending the time to document your experiences.

Bobbee, you might be trying to initiate a tryst with that little
hottie down in shipping and receiving, and you might be mentioning
things like your predeliction for Crisco, alligator clamps, car
batteries, hot fudge and interesting latex devices, and now, some
fresh faced PFY developer
Guilty as charged, T.Rob. I am employed as a tester in Bobbee's shop.

Thanks, but I was really looking for a dspmqlog type of command that
would tell me what the qmgr thinks it has for primary and secondary log
numbers. A dis qmgr does not show that information (but should?).
I have been looking through all the manuals trying to find something
about the logs and

You have an amazing MAIL CLient there. No wonder you want to protect it against
developers having access. To think, a MAIL client that takes peoples
conversations and converts it to what you want to really read. Sort of between
the lines type of program. Imagine that, I actually said give
Hi Linda,
AMQ7469 is related to log files ( S000.LOG) located in
/var/mqm/log/qmgr/active. As I beleive u r using circular logging, the number
of these files are not enough for the ongoing transactions. These are not
related to AMQERR files.
To increase the log files for the error
I know the answer to this but wanted someone else to verify.
We have a message channel between an AIX and z/OS queue manager and the
CONVERT option is set to YES on the SENDER channel to the z/OS queue
manager. One application (written many moons ago) on z/OS relies on the
channel for data
Hi Bobbee,
There are two things going on.
1. WAS does not seem to accept *QMGRGRP as a valid queue manager name,
which means that things aren't working properly. Srini is going to ask IBM
the question on this one. I am not a WAS expert, so this may be WAS being
Broken As Designed. I would have
Correct, but with the proviso that the application has to be using the
queue manager CCSID.
If the application on zOS uses a different CCSID than the queue manager,
then conversion will occur again if MQGMO_CONVERT is specified, but not
otherwise. Conversion by the channel will always convert to
Hummm, now you test my memory (as shot as it is these days!!) (not enough
beer!!) But I do remember reading somewhere that the channel data 'was'
searched in channel order. As soon as I pop the top on a silver bullet I will
go searching for it.
The other ting that I remarked on was that the
Hi Bobbee,
your memory must be better than you are giving it credit for (or maybe you
learnt this while drunk - learning under the influence?).
I found two contradictory statements in the manuals...
