It is NOT on the motherboard, but on the audio/video board (the one that
you see when you remove the casing.

Elco is a capacitor (or condensator in dutch). (electrolytische condensator)
The plus/minus is clearly marked on the housing. And no it is NOT a
resistor, nor does a resistor have a plus/minus side.
Buy those 2 elco's (een paar dubbeltjes) and replace the resistors as marked
on the motherboard.

Isn't an elco what we call a 'condensator' in the Netherlands ?? So
I'm
somewhat confused right now.
Yes, an elco is
Hi,
I've tried the SCC suggestion to fix the sound with the FMPAC on my NMS 8250
and it worked. Since I don't want to put in the SCC everything I use the
FMPAC I need to add that resistor. Since I don't feel like soldering in my
MSX I'll simply put it in my FMPAC (pin 49). When I read the
Hi,
Thanks for your reply..
Well this brings me to a new question... The SCC and the MusicModule don't
have this problem. So they have something in them that avoids/solves this
problem. So can't I simply modify the FMPAC in someway instead of having to
do some soldering in my MSX ? I now know

More corectly an elco is a polarised capacitor.A normal capacitor isn't
Hi,
Thanks for the extra info.. but... I still need to find out where R428 and
R429 is somewhere on the NMS8250 motherboard. I've removed the casing and
the drives bay but couldn't see anything there.. Perhaps it's under the
print that has all output connectors on it but I don't want to risk
