It seems to be the disk-drive strap, which is old and maybe

Disk-Drive is making nosie and is no longer reading disks!

Yes, that's a possible cause. But when my turbo R's drive was broken,
replacing the rubber band didn't solve the problem.

You should try first to replace the rubber band. It's easy and cheap and
there is a fair chance of success. If that doesn't work, you'll need a new
drive and that is tricky.

The turbo R needs a ready and a disk change signal. PC drives that are sold
today don't provide those signals. The signals can be faked by modifying the
drive, but then it won't run as smooth as it should. The best option is to
try and find an old drive that does provide a ready and a disk change signal,
but that takes some searching.

Bye,
Maarten

I don't know where to get this belt, more people have problem finding them.
I've allready send some messages to people who hopefully can help me with
this belt or replacing the disk-drive.

Maybe there is somebody on this list who has a broken Turbo-R with a
disk-drive that is still working?? Contact me!

I know... The disk-drive can't be found in European shops... and I even
think it is hard to find them anywhere else... Maybe in japan?

A couple of years ago I heared it was possible to connect a second
disk-drive to a Turbo-R, maybe that is a solution... maybe someone can telle
me...

Hi Mari,

I don't know where to get this belt, more people have problem
 finding them.
I've allready send some messages to people who hopefully can help me with
this belt or replacing the disk-drive.

The belt is sold by Rinus Stoker from MSX Info for F5,80.

I know... The disk-drive can't be found in European shops... and I even
think it is hard to find them anywhere else... Maybe in japan?

The drives are still available in japan (Panasonic spare parts), but we as
european people can't order there, we have to order it in Germany. I
e-mailed Germany, and they gave me a adres in Holland where I could buy
these original Turbo-R drives. But now comes the shock, I asked what the
price was when I would order 20 drives, well the price of 1 drive is: fl.
559.68 ex BTW.(254 EURO) and then there are also fl. 50 shippings costs.
E-mail me when you want the adres. Here some info from Panasonic Japan:

Service part information
Part number :EME213MU
Description :Floppy Disk Drive for MS-A1ST
Inventory : Yes, enough to cover 20 pcs at the factory,Japan
