[MTT devel] PHP5 compatibility patch applied

2012-05-30 Thread Christopher Yeoh
Hi,

I have applied the PHP5 compatibility patch to trunk (from ticket #389).
Note that this means the reporter code will no longer work on PHP4.

Regards,

Chris

Re: [MTT devel] PHP5 compatibility patch applied

2012-05-30 Thread Jeff Squyres
Sweet!

Just to paint the rest of the picture: We're taking a multi-step approach to
migrating services from old Indiana U. hardware to virtual machines in newer
hardware. Step 1 was announced yesterday (migrating OMPI and MPI Forum SVN,
Trac, and Open Grok). There's one last domino that needs to fall into place,
but this looks like it will happen on Friday morning, June 2012.

MTT trac/wiki and SVN will be offline during the migration.

After we're sure that's all working properly, we'll start to tackle migrating
all other OMPI / MTT / hwloc services to new servers, too. These migrations
are quite a bit more complex / detail-oriented (SVN and Trac are "simple"
migrations).

While exact migration ordering and timing is still TBD, IU has agreed to
increase resources for MTT, meaning that MTT will be moved to a different web
server than the main OMPI web site. Specifically, the MTT submission server
and reporter will be on https://mtt.open-mpi.org/ rather than
http[s]://www.open-mpi.org/mtt/. So we'll all need to update our MTT .ini
files when the time comes.

I'll let you know the timing of the change when we figure it out; it'll
probably be in a week or two.

2012-05-30 Thread Josh Hursey
Logistically, I will be making my transition to a new position over
the month of July. So if we make the MTT server transition before the
last week of June then I can help with the server side things, and
then use my last week to help debug any residual issues. After June 29
I will be sporadically available until things settle down later in
July.

[MTT devel] MTT queries... problems

2012-05-30 Thread Eugene Loh

I seem to get unreliable results from MTT queries.

To reproduce:
- go to http://www.open-mpi.org/mtt
- click on "Test run"
- for "Date range:" enter "2012-03-23 00:30:00 - 2012-03-23 23:55:00"
- for "Org:" enter "oracle"
- for "Platform name:" enter "t2k-0"
- for "Suite:" enter "ibm-32"
- click on "Summary"
- click on "Detail"

The summary indicates there are 193 passes and 6 skips. The detail
shows 199 results distributed over two pages, 1-100 on one page and
101-199 on the next. The total (199=193+6) is correct, but I think the
second page is suspect. It includes "Date range" output (which is nice,
but I didn't ask for it and I think is a symptom of what's going wrong
here). That second page includes some repeats from the first page
(e.g., "00_create" and "00_create_cxx"), etc. Because the total (199)
is correct and because there are repeats, other results are missing
entirely. Another indication that there is a problem is that there are
only three skipped tests in the "detail" view but six in the summary.
(I believe the summary.)

Before I click on "Detail", I can go to "Preferences" and set the number
of rows per page to be 200. Doing so and then clicking on "Detail", the
repeats (00_create, 00_create_cxx, and others) disappear and the number
of Skipped tests is correct.

So, the problem seems to be with distributing results over multiple pages.

[MTT devel] Open MPI services migration: part 1

2012-05-30 Thread Jeff Squyres
Be advised that I have received the following message from our Indiana U.
hosting provider. SVN/Trac/OpenGrok will be unavailable during the time frame
described below.

More migrations will follow (e.g., web services) in the coming weeks; stay
tuned.

-
We are planning to move all the services of svn.open-mpi.org and
svn.mpi-forum.org to the new server (tiger.crest.iu.edu) on June 1st, 2012.

List-Post: mtt-devel@lists.open-mpi.org
Date: June 1st, 2012
Time:
- 6:00am-10:00am Pacific US time
- 7:00am-11:00am Mountain US time
- 8:00am-12:00pm Central US time
- 9:00am-1:00pm Eastern US time
- 2:00pm-6:00pm GMT

* The services to migrate from sourcehaven to tiger
- subversion
- trac
- svnmanager
- opengrok

During the migration, the above services will not be available.

Re: [MTT devel] MTT queries... problems

2012-05-30 Thread Josh Hursey
Weird. I was able to reproduce. I suspect that there is probably a bug
somewhere in the uglier magic in the reporter. It is tricky the way
the reporter handles multiple pages of results. Unfortunately, I don't
think anyone understands that code any more (it -really- needs to be
reworked).

I'm not sure what to say except thanks for reporting the bug, and
hopefully we can fix it in the future when we revamp the reporter
code. Can you put this in MTT's Trac? So if we get around to it again
we can make sure to fix it.
