Is the subscribe command good for anything?
I use mutt 1.2.5, and read a few mailing list. I also use automatic filtering of my mail to put it all in the appropriate mailboxes. And I'm wondering what the subscribe command in mutt does, other than showing what mailing list the mail was sent to rather than who sent it. Since each mailing list goes in its own mailbox, I already know the mails were sent to the mailing list in question, and would much rather see who sent the mail. So, does the subscribe command have any actual use, or is it just there to annoy? Even if I tell mutt "unsubscribe [EMAIL PROTECTED]", the list-reply command still works. -- smund Skjveland ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) PGP signature

In addition to what Peter said, I will add the following : I use filters the same way as you. I modified the display variable so that instead of seeing the list address I see the sender's address. ~~ # sorting for lists folder-hook lists.* set sort=threads ; set sort_aux=date ; \ set index_format="%4C %Z%{%b%d} %-15.15F(%41) %s%| " # display the "From" not the list in index view ~~ By putting this in my .muttrc, I also get the list mail sorted by threads. Mutt and IMAP
Hi. I need to access an IMAP box and its subfolders. But I have some problems with it. So I have some questions : 1) How do I browse an IMAP folder if I don't want to specify it as my default mail directory ? If I try to open {user@server}INBOX or simply {user@server}, I see the messages, but I can't browse the folders. I can browse the folders if I specify it as my default mail dir (set folder=...), but that's not what I want because I already use a local mail folder with a lot of mailboxes in it. 2) Can I create/delete subfolders from Mutt ? 3) How can I move mail from one subfolder to another ? 4) And the last question, but it's not specific to IMAP : can I specify several ID's (name, email, and signature) ? I know about folder hooks, I have set some, but I need to answer with one or another ID, to mails that are in the same folder. Is it possible ? Thanks for any help. I tried to find those in the docs, couldn't... Maybe I didn't checked well enough, though, so if you know wher I could find the answer... -- Raphaël HALIMI

Order problem...
Greetings! I have noticed that when I bring up a folder (using mutt -f x), it is bringing it up and displaying it in an order OTHER than sorted by RECEIVED. It appears that it could be sorting by date by default. I think this is the only folder that this is happening to, as I have about 20 other folders that appear to be working properly. When I hit (o)rder / (r)eceived, it obviously displays them mail like I want. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how I might correct it? Thanks! = Scott A. Davis ! [EMAIL PROTECTED] ! IMAP folder hooks and other troubles
I run mutt (1.0.1i) on a local mail host (using mbox mailboxes)and use a number of folder hooks as follows: folder-hook =Lists/Mutt-users 'macro index leftchange-folder?tab9enter' This works fine. I now try to use mutt (1.2.5i) over imap to the same box and have the following folder hook folder-hook '{hobbiton}Mail/Lists/Mutt-users' 'macro index leftchange-folder?tab10enter' where {hobbiton}Mail/Lists/Mutt-users in the browser gets me into the correct mailbox. Ths folder hook doesn't work, in fact, I get errors on startup Invalid content of \{\} for the line in question. If I define the macro without the folder hook, it works fine. If if define the folder hook like: folder-hook Mail/Lists/Mutt-users 'macro indexleftchange-folder?tab10enter' mutt accepts the folder hook but doesn't act on it. Any ideas? Second problem. I'm using imap-4.7-5 on the server and am getting irritating delays accessing email. I'm in a folder and hit tab for the next unread. Sometimes I get it almost instantly while other times (I'm thinking a folder refresh or something here), it takes up to 30 seconds or so and I get these two messages: Message 1425 UID 468 less than 1425 Message 168 UID 3481 greater than last 170 Mean anything to anyone?
