I need the mutt_rem_bgrun command because I run mutt on a Solaris

application/msword; ooffice -view %s

I don't know if that will help, but it's something to try.

Thanks for the response. I tried that openoffice startup paramater

I put the same question to the Ubuntu and Openoffice forums, if a
solution comes up I'll report here.

Since 1.3.28 resend-message honors $record and fcc settings. You should
upgrade to 1.4.

 N Subject: Gee

Your press Enter to read Foo, then you press D. What happens ?
delete-message deletes Foo and points the pager to Bar. Then the
next-unread points to Gee. In fact, Bar is no more new, but you've not
 read it ! :-(
 Another suggestion ?

You need to set/unset $resolve, which determines if mutt moves to the
next entry or not after an action like delete. Something like:

macro pager d :set noresolveenterdelete-messagenext-unread \
:set resolveenter

folder-hook !!execcollapse-all

 bind compose left edit-message

Nothing serious and any guy reading manuals not character by

 kind of fantasy :(.

The typo in the manual is of course a bad thing, and it should be
corrected. However, when messing with macros and keybindings it is
always a good idea also to check the help screens (with '?'), to get the
names of all available functions. In the compose menu the help screen
says:

AFAIK Mutt can't do this itself, but if you could always create some
sort of template letter with your favorite editor (I use vim) and then

A better idea is to use mutt's handy resend-message function (bound to
Esc-e by default), which lets you use any msg (including the headers) as
a template for new messages.

Sure it is posible to have multiple postponed msgs.

You must have the quadoption 'postpone' set to yes (the default is
ask-yes) as it loads the postponed msg automatically. Change it to
another value. I prefer to have it set to 'no'. The default key for
recalling postponed msgs is 'R'.

Why should it be considered a bug? Autoedit per definition skips
the send-menu, and as the recipient is still unknown when you enter
the editor, send-hooks naturally cannot work. So if you want to use
send-hooks, you have to unset autoedit, period. Sometimes you just can't
have it both ways, and have to choose.

Why not reevaluate the send-hooks after the editing session and after

For instance, send-hooks can be used to insert different signatures
matching certain addresses (inserting sigs in different languages,

inserting another - a rather complex operation...

I can remap the 'c' command for example to print the '=' for me so

the suggested folder name - which is frequently useful.

One easy way to do get rid of the need for the prefixes '=' or '+' is
to use a shell alias which starts mutt in ~/Mail ('cd Mail;mutt;cd').

With edit-headers this is no big problem, though.

The order of the tagged and quoted messages is affected by the sort
