[MLO] Re: New Windows Version

2017-10-07 Thread Elizabeth Lindsay
Honestly, there is little I need changed. I hope we are aware of details
before they are implemented. I've used the Windows and Android version for
years and am quite happy.

What I am trying to describe would be a little different from what's on

fields but you have no option to add other fields, for example Importance,
as you do on Windows. Also, if you change the size of the window (eg
switching from portrait to landscape) the arrangement of the fields does
not change, the only result is more blank space in the middle, unless you
have a single field (eg caption) that wraps to multiple lines. Or, if you
switch to a pop-up window (might be Samsung only) the layout remains
unchanged but the font shrinks. What I am describing would allow you to
display or exclude fields exactly as you do now on Windows. If you have a
single-line display of your current view at that time it would switch to a
two or three line display as may be needed to view all of the fields. Same
font size, the displayed fields and the order of their display are exactly
what you set up for the selected view, the nuber of lined needed equals the
total space needed to display a full line divided by the available space.

Re: [MLO] Re: New Windows Version

2017-10-05 Thread Joel Fannin
Yes, I have tried the ALT+F1 and ALT+F2 and technically it works but it
just doesn't look good with ten columns active. There's just no way to make
MLO in its current form look good and work efficiently without the task
column being cut off. The word wrap would help but the task column would
still look odd. I believe that's the trade-off with MLO. A lot of people
out there love the aesthetics like Todoist, GQueues and other web apps out
there but you can't do as much with them as you can with MLO so at the end
of the day, if I had to choose between the two, I will choose the features
that come with MLO over being able to work with MLO and another app at the
same time. I was just saying that it would be nice to be able to, is all.

Re: [MLO] Re: New Windows Version

Have you tried WINDOWS+LEFTARROW on windows 10? I snap it to the side all
the time, Joel.

Re your other issue I'd like to see appointments mixed with tasks, per
time. Plus the option to have them so mixed or not.

Personally, IMO, the only thing about the UI I would like different is
being able to share MLO with at l east one other app on my desktop at the
same time by snapping MLO to one side of the desktop while working out of
another app on the other side. At present, I can't efficiently do this.
However, not sure it could be done so not something I'd sacrifice for
features.

This snapping-to-the-side functionality, if I am correctly understanding
your requirement, is pretty much standard in Win10

[MLO] Re: New Windows Version

2017-10-03 Thread Holmes245
Yet communicating with your users is key if you're looking to draw more
users. I'm on the fence right now as to whether MLO 5 is going to something
I can use since MLO 4 isn't. Because Andrey hasn't communicated what MLO 5
will be or what can be expected, I've decided to use Todoist for now since
I needed something that worked with Google Calendar where I can see all my
things for the day in one day view. If Andrey had communicated with us what
we can expect with MLO 5 in December/beginning of next year then I would
have held out knowing that was coming because it would have told me either
way if I'll still be able to use MLO. Since I don't know anything, I moved
on. Not a good way to keep users or draw those wondering if MLO 5 would be
good for them.

Plus, I still think he needs to go subscription. It could be that he's
happy with his small team and business as it is now but if not, he needs to
switch to a subscription service so that he can add more people to his
development team. There are those who currently want a Mac version of MLO
but I cringe at the thought of Andrey's development cycle getting any
slower than it already is.
