I think I figured out. I didnt have the name of my new space written exactly as 
it was in the outline. Once I did that it seemed to work. I also clicked as you 
suggested. Thank you!

If so, maybe the "sync selection with first workspace"  is selected. It's at 
Right click > set up workspace.
