Alright, I'm completely pissed off here. I don't believe MythGames +
xmame works. It's been on the radar for 6 months to get it working.
I've sat down several times to attempt to that... no success. The
couple times I've managed to get it working somewhat it's just randomly
stopped working
Hi,
I've just bought a new HDTV and switched over to a HDTV cable box from
my cable company (Bright House Networks). They gave me a Motorola
DCT6200 DVR for two months because they were out of plain non-DVR HDTV
cables boxes (DCT5100's I believe is what they are using for that).
So now I'd
Has anyone managed to get fedora to play nice with Myth's monitor CD/DVD
functionality? I've got myth setup up to do that, specifically for DVD's to
bring
up the menu. No matter what I try it doesn't seem to work though. I've edited
/etc/fstab so that my dvd-rom shows up as:
/dev/hdc
In any case the new machine will be a P4/3.2GHz on an Intel 945
series motherboard.
Why? AMD64 is better in every way. You're crazy to buy Intel for anything

I think this is more of an ivtv issue but I'll ask here anyway
Lately it seems I'm been having an issue getting channels 5-6 to come in
clearly. Channel 6 is really static and channel 5 the color is faded
out so it almost look back and white. All my other channels are fine.

Whenever I am watching live TV and I get prompted that Myth wants to use the

records) it causes the frontend to crash. It also causes that tuner to no

So I'm the market for a digital TV...
I realize there aren't any cards out there for Linux that do QAM HDTV, and that
my only options to record directly are the two OTA cards available.
What about HDTV coming directly out of a HDTV cable box via

Do you use Datadirect (Zap2it)? If so all you have to do is login there via
the website, modify the channel line up for your source, and you won't
get the excluded channels. I don't know how this works if you've got a program
schedule with programs setup to record already, I deleted my
I'm trying to do a channel icon import for datadirect using the method
specified in the documentation:
perl mkiconmap.pl
mythfilldatabase --import-icon-map iconmap.xml --update-icon-map
The first part works fine. The second produces:

Hi All,
I have a PVR-250 and a PVR-500 living together happily in a FE/BE
system. Why is that Myth always wants to the use the tuner that I'm
using for LiveTV to record a scheduled program. There are two other
unused tuners, why not one of them? I know I can switch to another
tuner,
I've setup Myth so that it's supposed to bring up the DVD or CD menu when I
insert a disk. It doesn't work however. KDE's automounter is turned
off and I've edited fstab according to Jarod's Fedora guide (and yes the
monitor option is selected in Myth). If go to the menu manually and hit
play
LMAO.
Everyone on this list is using Myth on a regular basis It's been released
for a few years now. It's arguably the best PVR out there right now
, definitely the most feature rich. Set it up right and you've got yourself a
high end professional system that does pretty much whatever
I have 2 Myth backends/frontends each with 1 tuner we'll call turner A and B.
When I'm watching live TV one front end with tuner A and hit record..
it automaticly switches me to tuner B (after exiting live TV and coming back
in) that's OK (would be better if it just took me straight to
I've got Mythtv up and running on FC4. There's nothing special to do... Setup
is 100% identical to that of FC3 if you use Jarod's Fedora+Myth howto.
The only special thing I had to do was specify the atrpm-testing branch,
since when I set things up two weeks ago there weren't any stable rpms.
they jumped to gcc 4.0 in
FC4, which is supposed to produce code that performs below that
produced by gcc 3.4.
Bonus points: How about FC3/FC4 differences in x86-64 systems?

I have a very large music collection (~30,000 songs) sorted out on a file share
in the format ./ARTIST/ARTIST - TITLE.mp3
I'd like for Myth to sort in the format ARTISTTITLE. I've got ID3 tags turned
off right now because there's just too much garbage in them and they
can't be trusted...
Did you try starting the mythfrontend on the slave? It asks a
question as to where the mysql db is. After that try running the
mythsetup again...
