Hi Bob,

I have had to do this in the past for various reasons (binary
compatibility, setting versions to specific values, etc.) and I was
never able to find a suitable way to do it with nant alone. Ultimately,

would just call it from my build scripts.

I have a batch file created that calls a NAnt script that performs a
build. Then it calls another batch file to perform a separate task.
However, the problem is if the build does not succeed, then the next
batch file does not need to be called. I want to return a value from
the NAnt script to the originating batch file so I can dynamically call
the next batch. The reason I cannot call the second batch from the NAnt
script is because of some reporting tasks that I have setup. Is it
possible to return a value that can be accessed by a batch file or do I
need to change my reporting tasks?

 Thank you,

Re: [NAnt-users] Getting the Path of an Included Build File

2009-08-18 Thread Michael Pento
If I understand you correctly, you want the path without the filename.
get-buildfile-path() returns the path and file of the currently running
build script.

If all you need is the path portion, you could just parse that out
yourself:

For example, my build file is C:\RelEng\Scripts\default.build

Running this returns C:\RelEng\Scripts

I am not sure if this helps or not, I may have misunderstood what you
are looking to accomplish.

Thanks,
Mike

I would like to create a common include file that several of my builds

It would setup a few global directorise and properties. Then my build
files
would just use the element. However, I am trying to use the
project::get-buildfile-path() function inside my include file to get the
current path of that include file. This property will then be used to
build
up other paths.

The problem is that this function returns the path to the build file
including the include file. Since this method doesn't work, is there a
better approach? Another function I should use?
