Ok, sorry to get Pedantic, but my question was misunderstood. What I am
saying is that I have observed a variation in the position of pin 1 in both
Dieter's photo and my photo. The datasheet (attached) shows what I am
talking about.

I have seen it but never realized the (right) pinout on it.

Now immediately go to your IN-18 clock and check it! Do the cathodes stand
even? Then the designer did get it right!
