Ok, so the tube just arrived, everything seems just fine, but i havent got the time to fire it yet. The thing is i have noticed a really strange thing - there is an extra cathode wich is *upside down* number eight in the middle, in between two and five. It looks like its not connected to any

I have several with similar darkening, and they are just fine. But, like Jeff says, it most likely has a few hours on it. It may be fine and then again, it may not! No way to tell until you get your hands on it. I can tell you this, most of the 5680's I have that have this sort of darkening
