However make test is a disaster! Not one test passes... at best they
get skipped (well, the summary
delete the Freeradius package, due to dependencies. )
The FAQ mentioned that 'make test' errors may occur due to "some minor
inconsistancies with the between my setup and the test environment", so
this may have been why the error was generated.

anyway, I am able to run mib2c on any of the mibs that are current
