Greetings.
I am a newbee to this mailing list and ofcourse to net-snmp community as
well.
currently i am facing the snmpd crash on our Linux environment when we try
to configure & start many VLAN's.
I guess there was a simillar discussion that had happened in this mailing
list but, follow
when will this gets invoked when we think of a start-up of the system,
and where does NetSnmp-Agent is going to get in to this execution step?

I am currently using Net-Snmp 5.3.1, where in during the startup i am
getting this error from the ip-mib:
snmpd[7495]: couldn\'t map value 248 for ipAddressAddrType
snmpd[7495]: not enough space for value
snmpd[7495]: error setting index while loading ipAddres

Is there any limitations for the number of IP Table entries with IP-MIB.
When ever we try to configure large number of VLAN's or VRF's, the netsnmp
(snmpd) seems to crash in failure of coantainer insert/remove cases.
Can any body help here to debug this issue.

For example:
On a system running net-snmp agent, if dynamically many IP interfaces or
VLAN's are defined, does net-snmp agent would be able to provide the new IP

Currently we are using the net-snmp-5.4.2.1 version on our linux server,
with snmpd running as master agent on x86 environments and as sub-agent on
both x86 and mips environments.
Now for the sub aganet on x86 cpu usage looks healthy but for the mips snmpd
the cpu usage is occupying 100% m
igured, we do not see cpu load ans it shows 0%.
Is it something to deal with IP-MIB? or the sub aganet configuration for
routing?

But basically there are no other monitoring that is on which can consume
much of alarm resources.
My snmpd daemon here is running as a SUb agent and not as masteragent and it
has only agentx Masteragent's socket defned in conf file nothing else.

I was trying to optimize some part of if-mib as my snmpd was consuming too
much cpu slot.
Also i came across "_check_interface_entry_for_updates()" calls taking a
major part of cpu time.
Wanted to check if i comment it out how bad the performance will be.
I know the need for this function

checked.
Because this only checks for duplicate entries.
Let me know whether this change makes it better?
