I was wondering if anyone knows of a way of overclocking a nVidia
GF2's core and ram? I've tried the NVnews forum and no luck. I thought that
there may be a way to do it in one of the config files or somthing.
Also, I was wondering if there was a way of changing the

When configuring the X, I remember a question asking whether to use virtual
screens or not.
You probably answered yes in which case I believe it would used virtual

Try configuring again and answer no to that question next time.
hope that helps.

The following fixed a problem for [EMAIL PROTECTED] where the
xserver was not starting due to a "authentication failed - cannot
start X server - perhaps you do not have console ownership" problem.
I was seeing the same thing.
Here's the content of /etc/pam.d/xserver which you may want to try:

One would need to know which card you have and you should post both your
XF86Config[-4] and log
(/var/log/XFree86.0.log would do...)
You can check yourself whether your card is supported by going to www.xfree86.org,

AFAIK Mesa is for 3dfx boards, but don't take that for granted.
Try putting dri before glx in config file.
What version of X do you have? Should be 4.2.0, earlier are known to cause trouble
with Radeon boards.
