If you're only keeping the bike until December, please don't do anything

One of those bikes in clean, rideable (but not showroom) condition is worth

NADA says top value is 1845. And that's for mint. I think a near mint

I think it would take a stingy seller and a bonehead-ish buyer to buy a

I know that bitter/sweet feeling. But as to prices, unfortunately vehicles
aren't bought/sold in NADA. Just watching sales on CL and eBay, I've seen
mint bikes selling for $3000, They take a while to sell at that price, but
they do. The clean/rideable bikes go between $1800/$2200. This ofcourse

OEMs usually just crimp without solder. Might be worth a shot.

Gibby, before buying anything put a volt meter on your battery and check the
voltage with the bike running. A good battery will measure from 12.4 to 12.65
after sitting overnight without a load on (engine not running). With the engine
running the volts should go up as high as 14.2 at about 4k
The guy at the shop showed me on one. It was under 12 at idle and would break
even at 12 with anything past 2.5k rpms but wouldn't start charging even at 4k.
Gonna test the rectifier and the stator ASAP to see if its only a problem with
one of them or both before I do anything.
