The ring you are talking about behind the turn knob is secured by rivets. You have to drill them out to get to it, (then tap and screw new screws to put it back together). The rebuild kit does not include that metal pressure ring. Start with the other side, the vacuum rebuild kit. I would check

He hole in the middle shouldn’t matter. The valve rotates to align with the larger holes to allow gas to go nowhere, from main tank, and from reserve. Last hole goes around a peg (or bump) to prevent it turning. The center hole should not come into play. -- You received this message
