It doesn't look as if either were easy to do. I can't even see any
references to Nikola code in

I can think of two reasons:
1. Corrupted .doit.db file -- please remove it and try again.
2. Files in your site with names that are invalid utf-8.

The importer replaces everything. This is why it's important not to have
random files Nikola is unaware of. To fix this, put your CNAME file on the
source branch, in the files directory.
