There are a few NixOS services that I know don't work yet on systemd,
namely mysql, mysql55, and mongodb. This is because they use
Upstart-specific job options (extraConfig). There are probably
other services that haven't been tested and so might not work
properly.

in nix store (or anything equivalent)? You would better install into VM

The goal is to be able to install any system and have it managed
completely within Nix. E.g. point Nix at an install of some
(non-obscure) linux distro and have it turn into a working install of
NixOS, with packages from that distro
