Hi... Looking a bit a the content of Minimal CD, I don't seems to find
pppd, chatscripts and/or wvdial.
Have they been 'packaged' for NixOS? (Sorry, 'packaged' is probably
not the word NixOS use).
There are nix-expressions for them in NixPkgs, yes
Is it expected to be on minimal CD?
Maybe not.

Probably we should drop the tree structure (reduce the number of
categories?) and replace it by search tags + tools to query these tags.

In addition, I'd say the actual Nix packages tree structure should be
redesigned to
be developer-oriented. I.e., less rather than more categories,

Hi,
has anyone managed to print a Postscript or PDF file to a Splix printer

printers that need some kind of local filter to run no longer work:

Thanks, this gives me a segfault as well. Will investigate.
The cause seems to be in some builderDefs code, which is doing an
equality check (uniqList)
Latest changes in overrideDerivation assume that every derivation has
buildDrv and hostDrv. This seems to be false for derivations produced by
builderDefs. This makes test-eval-release fail.
Well, stdenv.mkDerivation was called since forever there.
Isn't it actually enough?
I disagree. What useful information do most of these communicate? E.g. if a
mkdir succeeds, why do I have to be informed about it? It's only interesting
if
it fails.
Rob actually just suggested to make the unpackPhase less verbose, i.e. drop the
-v flag in tar and cp. But maybe that should

What I would like:
- Give child-profiles some link back to their parent. If a real link
would give cyclic dependency issues, a text file with just the store
path is probably enough too.
Unfortunately, this still means circular dependency. Store paths
mentioned inside store elements always mean
Excerpts from Mathijs Kwik's message of Thu Feb 09 08:47:39 +0100 2012:
Nope, that would switch to the main profile (the lean one), dropping
out of x11 and such, when I'm currently in the desktop child.
So I do need to just nixos-rebuild boot, then switch to new profile's
child manually.

Currently quite a few packages in nixpkgs have /var/run/current-system/sw
and/or /var/setuid-wrappers hardcoded. Why is it better than having /usr?
Although suboptimal, it is better than /usr/ because upstream packages
themselves don't do this on their own (yet). Unlike /usr/ references,

I'm not sure of the powers of 'nix-store --verify-path', but so far I
was under the (wrong) impression, that nix has methods that do not
require trust into the build farm (provider).
This works for checking that redistributor is honest, but not for
original buildfarm which actually produces the
I'm planning to remove gw6c completely in about a week time, to avoid
confusion.
If you are still using gw6c please let me know if this is unacceptable to you.
I use gw6c and I support such an upgrade. Thanks for your effort.
