 @Pinakini
  Nothing to be done for `all'.

? Why not Google , Nothing to be done for `all'.
* You will get ~900,000,000 hits.
Most will hopefully tell that »Nothing to be done for `all'.« means :
Everything is OK.

`Nothing to be done´ is the reply when 'make' is run more than one time.
( The first 'make' is done with the './install' command.)

Re: [ns] Patched NS Make error

2011-01-13 Thread Christopher Ogirri

 I have currently successfully installed ns2.1b9 on my CentOS 5 machine.
 After installation, I implemented the patch listed
 herehttp://www.cs.unh.edu/cnrg/people/sowmyam/ns-atm/
 .

 Following the readme instructions( also found on that page) I was able to
 apply the patch and ./configure.

 I however encountered an error trying to run make.

 The error is listed below:

 g++-3.3.6 -c  -DTCP_DELAY_BIND_ALL -DNO_TK -DNIXVECTOR
 -DTCLCL_CLASSINSTVAR  -DNDEBUG -DLINUX_TCP_HEADER -DUSE_SHM -DHAVE_LIBTCLCL

 atm/atm.h:66: error: syntax error before `*' token
 make: *** [trace/trace.o] Error 1

 In the file its complainig, there is a śtring'declaration before the *
 character. I fear this is the problem.

 I should note now that in order to install ns2.1b9 I had to basically
 install a much older version of gcc, precisely gcc 3.3.6.

 I have searched the mailing lists but have found nothing. I have attached
 the file so that anyone can go through it.

 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all ns users,
I am using Ubuntu and ns-2.31.

After patching i did make but I have got following error:

trace/cmu-trace.o: In function `hdr_aomdv::access(Packet const*)':
cmu-trace.cc:(.text._ZN9hdr_aomdv6accessEPK6Packet[hdr_aomdv::access(Packet
const*)]+0x7): undefined reference to `hdr_aomdv::offset_'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [ns] Error 1

[ns] make error while recompiling

2009-02-20 Thread Dimitris Liarokapis

Hi all,

I am getting an error message while recompiling AODV after some changes i
made to aodv.cc.
I made those changes yesterday, recompiled successfully and run a sample tcl
file to make sure that those changes are having an effect on the results.
Everything looked to be ok, until today where i tried to bring the aodv.cc
file back to its original form by deleting all the changes i made the day
before.
Now, when i am trying to recompile ns2 i get the following error message.
make: *** No rule to make target `VERSION', needed by `gen/version.c'.
Stop.

I tried to reconfigure using ./configure. I am getting the same error
message. I have not touched anything inside the Makefile or Makefile.in or
any other files whatsoever.

Does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be and how to fix that?

Thanx in advance,

Dimitris
