This is related to the lock file bug. It crashs on lock file removal and
let the backup in corrupt state. If the lock file can't be removed it
shouldn't crash.

Can you provide some more information how to trigger this bug?
Maybe you could post the configuration used. Was the backup local or
remote? Did you use the PPA version or a manual installation?
