OMG! I have a solution for your problem but I would I you can use
\beginquestion ... \endquestion instead of \startquestion ...
\stopquestion.
Fixed:
\startquestion should be \beginquestion
\startanswer should be \beginanswer
and
\stopquestion should be \endquestion
\stopanswer should be \endanswer
